Bucket List

Here is a list of things I am not able to, but hope to someday after my WLS.

Updated Dec 14, 2015 to tick off the things I’ve accomplished…and some of the things I haven’t done are more due to arthritis than size 🙂

  • DONE! Take a bubble bath! I have not fit into a bath tub since I was 18, I am now 33, you do the math
  • DONE! Be able to ride in any car in any country AND wear the seatbelt!
  •  [HALFWAY DONE! I can do rides, can’t walk it yet!] Go to amusement parks and A) be able to walk the entire day and B) be able to ride rides.
  • Be able to ride a bike.  Oh how I miss the freedom and the wind in my hair
  • DONE! Climb the stairs at work without feeling like dying!
  • Go to concerts
  • DONE! heck, go to pubs and not have to worry about seating or public loos
  • Snowboarding on a half-pipe!  This is where I think I will break bones. [This will NEVER happen 😦 my orthopaedic surgeon forbids it]
  • I’d like to go on a cruise and venture out to all of the cities the ship stops-NO! I decided being in the middle of water in a sinkable vessel terrifies me lol
  • I want to travel all of Europe via youth hostels or 5 star hotels, depending on how much of a Diva I become
  • DONE! I want to fit in ONE airplane seat with both arms down and no extender
  • DONE! I’d love to take classes at the local college and not have to worry about seating or how far I have to walk
  • Public transport!!!  I’d love the freedom of hopping on the train and spending the day walking around London
  • Go scuba diving and snorkelling in the Caribbean
  • Surf in Hawaii
  • Be able to do yoga…all the poses
  • I want to get back into competitive performance poetry. Last time I qualified for finals I freaked out because of needing to fly somewhere and worried about all the complications my size brings.
  • DONE! I’d like strangers to look me in the eye and smile rather than giving me the judgemental look
  • The ability to work anywhere would be nice without worrying about uniforms or standing on my feet
  • Hiking and camping
  • Music festivals! (Reading is a good start)
  • DONE! I can’t wait for cuter clothes!
  • DONE! (sorta, damn hips!)-Loads more “positions” lol
  • DONE! not being afraid to go down stairs (it’s harder than you think)
  • DONE! Walking more than 5 feet and still being able to breathe
  • Running, heck, even speed walking!
  • DONE! Not worrying about a house fire of a car crash cos there is no way I could escape either
  • DONE! Being able to go to theatres/cinemas
  • Getting back into acting, I used to love it so much

This is in no way a complete list, but it gives you an idea of the things I am restricted in.
